I watched this tonight and likely will never be watching it again. I became interested because there has been a gif set going around from this film (the one where the girl cuts all her fat and skin off) and it’s been getting a lot of buzz because of it. I say the following as a lifelong horror fan who is relatively desensitized and not bothered by much: This movie really, REALLY pushes the limits of what is okay. I can’t really sum up the entire thing as it’s many different short films, and they range from excellent to completely stupid to just… so disgusting. I don’t mean cool, awesome horror movie disgusting. I mean…disgusting. Things involving child porn and animal torture for sexual purposes… actually half of these movies were like really sick fetish films… to me that stuff is not okay and kind of a disgrace to the horror genre. I wasn’t really prepared for what this movie contained so I thought I’d throw out this review so others can know some of the subject matter. In my opinion the best short of the entire thing is “D is for Dogfight.” Now, I know what you might be thinking, and if you watch this one you might be cringing at the beginning of it, but I urge you to see it through to the end. It isn’t what you think it is at first, and it’s actually sort of beautiful in a dark way. Cheers to Marcel Sarmiento for making something artistic and powerful.
